English: Class 2 — Chapter 11: The Smart Monkey

Story Summary

Plot Overview

One day, two girls named Anju and Farida went to the market. Anju bought a bag, and Farida bought a water bottle. Later, they went to a shop and bought a packet of groundnuts and a bottle of juice. Feeling tired, they sat on a bench under a tree to rest. Unbeknownst to them, a monkey was sitting on a branch of the tree above them.

The girls took out their food and began to eat. They threw the empty groundnut packet and the empty juice bottle on the ground. Meanwhile, the monkey, who had a banana, peeled it and ate it. The monkey then climbed down the tree with the banana peel and threw it into a nearby dustbin. Seeing the monkey's responsible action, Anju and Farida felt ashamed of their littering. They immediately picked up their trash and threw it into the dustbin.
